welcome,
My name is Laszlo Zsoka, and I am a watercolor artist and art educator from Hungary.
I earned my degree in painting from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, where I gained in-depth knowledge and practical experience in various fields of fine arts. Over the past ten years, I have organized numerous workshops and painting camps for adults in Hungary, helping many budding artists and enthusiastic amateurs to develop their skills. Currently, I teach drawing and visual culture to children at a private school, making teaching and art an integral part of my daily life.
My watercolors have been exhibited in several shows in Hungary, and I have represented my country at various international watercolor events, such as Fabriano in Acquerello and the Belgrade Watercolor Biennale. My work has also been featured on various artistic products: one of my cityscapes adorns the cover of the Munkácsy watercolor pad, which contains Fabriano studio paper, and Cretacolor used one of my paintings on a set of watercolor pencils this year. I will soon be launching my own set of paints, which will include sixteen of my preferred Talens-Van Gogh colors. In recent years, I have also conducted several English-language online courses organized by Shopkeeparty.
I warmly welcome everyone who wishes to explore the wonderful world of watercolor painting and share the joy of art together!
Workshop Methodology
In my workshops, I place great emphasis on ensuring that every participant receives the appropriate guidance. My method involves painting together step-by-step, so everyone can create their artwork with confidence. The light and energetic nature of the watercolor technique is especially close to my heart, and I aim to share this approach with you as well. Watercolor painting is not just a technique but a state of mind that embodies lightness and spontaneity.
My Artistic Style
My paintings primarily depict cityscapes and plein-air (outdoor) scenes. The unique charm and freshness of the watercolor technique are reflected in my works, which exude lightness and energy. The vibrant colors and subtle transitions make the paintings dynamic and full of life. My goal is for participants to experience the beauty and creative freedom of the watercolor technique.
Why Watercolor?
Watercolor painting holds a special place in my heart because it is both a challenge and a joy. The dynamics of paint and water, the spontaneous effects, and the layering techniques all contribute to an experience that only watercolor can provide. I hope that workshop participants will discover the beauty and flexibility of this technique.
